Kate Winslet has put her Oscar in the bathroom because she knows everyone wants to atleast hold the gold statue once, pose with it and then put it back down. She says everyone would like to pick it and gasp at how heavy the statue is. So the best option she could come up with was to put it in the bathroom so people would stop asking where it was.
Kate Winslet is not the only celebrity to put her Oscar in the bathroom. Emma Thompson, Elizabeth Taylor, Susan Sarandon, Lionel Richie and Sean Connery all keep their Oscars in their bathrooms. According to an actress she used to keep her gold statue in the bathroom since it looked good with faucets, but she had to remove it when they started getting corroded on the bottom.
