When Iron Man died, the whole MCU wept. Mr. Tony Stark’s role actually created the strongest bonds among its viewers.
Since RDJ has not proclaimed that he is officially leaving the studios already, most fans theorized that he would be back.
However, that does not seem to be the case at all.
Marvel Studios executive, Victoria Alonso, sat for an interview with Clarín where divulged that resurrecting the character is not possible.
“Tony Stark is dead. And that’s our story. Resurrection I do not know, I do not know how we would do it. It seems to me that the story of Tony Stark is told by us,” she said.
Per Alonso, Iron Man already left all the inheritance he had. For instance, he left the most important things of his life to Peter Parker in the latest Spider-Man flick.
In addition, RDJ’s character established the closest bond to the viewers compared to others. Despite that fact, Marvel Studios still needs a more valid reason why they should resurrect him.
Alonso also said that they do not want to resurrect Chadwick Boseman’s character, as well, through CGI.
Amid all the fans’ consistent calls and petitions, the Russo brothers finally shared their thoughts earlier this year.
During the live watch party of “Avengers: Endgame” earlier this year, Joe and Anthony tried helping fans to cope with the coronavirus pandemic.
But RDJ’s appearance hyped the viewers even more. During that time, Joe asked him whether they should do a movie again.
“The people will move us toward what they want,” RDJ responded.
Meanwhile, Anthony approved the idea — but in one condition.
According to him, they need to see something before creating another Iron Man-led film again.
Anthony also opened up to the ReelBlend podcast and said that he wanted to see RDJ again in one of MCU’s phases.
“If they are not real, then you know… the audience’s emotional investment in those moments, with those characters, and the narrative is contingent upon them feeling like there’s something to be lost,” he went on.
If they recklessly bring him back, Iron Man’s sacrifice during “Avengers: Endgame” would only be put to waste.
Still, the elder Russo Brother shared some hope and declared that that seeing Iron Man again “is something that would have to be earned.”
