King Charles was said to have chosen Archie’s birthday, May 6th, for his coronation in order to provide his daughter-in-law a refined and sensible way out, and she accepted it.
According to sources close to the former actress, she made the decision that Prince Harry should fly to London alone in order to show King Charles that she was thinking of him.
It is said that Markle intended to quietly inform His Majesty that she is done with the transatlantic verbal skirmish and PR saga.
Meghan doesn’t want any further rifts with other royal family members, a source who spoke to The Sun said.
The individual with knowledge of the issue further said that Markle even tries to get back in touch with King Charles. She also wants to help Archie and Lilibet get to know their grandpa better.
“She wants her children to know their grandfather, Charles, especially since they won’t know their other grandfather [Thomas Markle, from whom Meghan has been estranged for a long time],” the person said. She does hope that they may cross paths and that her choice would be seen as selfless since it was better to keep the spotlight on His Majesty.
One royal analyst, however, thinks that King Charles may not perceive Markle’s newsworthy choice as unselfish.
On the contrary, His Majesty may be outraged by the slight and take steps to punish Markle. According to the writer for news.com.au, King Charles can decide to punish Prince Harry and Markle by depriving them of their honorific titles.
