The occasion was the 51st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. These awards have a long history and this event held last night represented the 407th country-music-themed awards show in America. What made the awards ceremony significant was that it turned out to be the first time that a duet was featured between the widely liked and acclaimed Katy Perry from the world of pop and the highly acknowledged and relevant one of country music ,Dolly Parton.
Undoubtedly Katy Perry is a pop star with an extraordinary twitter following of 86 million while Dolly enjoys an iconic status having contributed infinite treasures to the world of music entertainment. Dolly and Katy took the stage and superbly pulled off a medley consisting of some of Parton’s greatest hits, that included “Coat Of Many Colors,” “Jolene,” and “9 to 5.” The Muse has the entire performance, but one can watch the artists perform at least two songs together.
As for the attire Parton wears a bedazzled western belt plus the dress has fringed detailing and also there are banana yellow cowboy boots.And the effect is colorful indeed. The other duet partner Perry opted for a “pop star visits Nashville” outfit, with rhinestones on high-heeled boots showing. Normally Perry’s live show give the effect of a perpetual motion machine but this one certainly gave a much more restraining touch. Perhaps this restrained touch will never be seen again.
