Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Jourdan Dunn Join Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi in Celebrating Fendi’s New 3Baguette Charity Initiative

There’s no denying that the Fendi Baguette has a special place in the hearts of many a bold styled woman (and probably a few Sex and the City appreciating men, as well). Last night, amid a cold that certainly warranted some artfully eccentric furs, Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jourdan Dunn, Rachel Feinstein, and Leandra Medine joined Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi in celebrating five new 3Baguette bags a collaboration between the aforementioned New York power women and the house of Fendi that led each individual to decorate a bag to be auctioned off for charity in tandem with the house.

The bash brought in the likes of Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Hailee Steinfeld, Sofia Coppola, and Giovanna Battaglia, who sipped champagne and snacked on canapés of artichoke fondue and caviar with lemon crème fraîche as Erykah Badu manned the decks (think retro grooves) and others (Martha Stewart, Elisabeth von Thurn and Taxis) admired the mink and black lurex (Rihanna); platinum gold and purple satin (SJP); and primary-color, tattoo-inspired (Dunn) creations.

The fete, of course, was also a celebration of Fendi’s new Madison Avenue flagship and what better way to celebrate the fresh boutique home of a house built through the generations by women than by calling on the eyes and philanthropic interests of a few of this city’s own?

“[Getting to work with Silvia and her team] was the best part!” said Feinstein, who adopted a Pompeii mosaic floor pattern of many fish for her bag. “Stylistically they are quite beautiful but in reality I imagine how long gone those beautiful fish are, just like we will all be ourselves in 50-70 years or less. Life is so short and the message of portraying fish in such a beautiful way is to enjoy yourselves while you are alive and be the best that you can be too.”

Proceeds from the bags (on online auction through March 13) will go to the Clara Lionel Foundation, the Brain Trauma Foundation, the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center, the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
