Miu Miu Hosts Their Cruise 2015 Presentation and a Dinner and Special Performance - Miuccia Prada’s scene-setting abilities know no bounds.
Miuccia Prada’s scene-setting abilities know no bounds. When her audience for the Miu Miu resort show arrived at the deco edifice of the Palais d’Iéna in Paris, they were greeted with the sight of a white carpet snaking up the stairs.
They swept guests up to a lofty pillared hall that felt like stepping back into a strange seventies time capsule. A mirrored wall, a custom-woven, fitted deep pile carpet with large purple and black geometric patterns, cubic metallic blocks, and retro futuristic armchairs had been moved in, turning the familiar space Prada always uses for Miu Miu into an unrecognizable scene with a vaguely unsettling atmosphere of a verging-on-shagadelic nightclub or the set of sci-fi movie set. To one side, there were circular tables for the dinner Prada was to throw after the show, and at another end there was a stage built for Jack White to play a set.
There was at least one figure among the guests who fit in perfectly with the seventies backdrop: Roman Polanski, who was sitting tête–à–tête with Prada during the dinner and alongside his wife, Emmanuelle Seigner. Also at her table were Steve McQueen and Marc Jacobs, while bevvies of actresses including Uma Thurman, Freida Pinto, Isla Fisher graced the scene, each of them dressed in Miu Miu or Prada.
