Model Behavior – Jason Wu and ACRIA’s Summer Soiree

“I’m really proud of this event,” said Jason Wu, beaming during cocktail hour at the Young Friends of ACRIA’s second-annual summer soiree, of which he was host. Wu got involved with the organization that works to ensure people with HIV receive the treatment, care, and support they need a couple of years ago.

“Now I’m fortunate enough to be on the big boys’ team, or the ACRIA Board,” he said. Asked if making the leap from Young Friends of ACRIA to ACRIA Board Member made him feel old, Wu wagged his finger saucily, “Not old, mah-toor. And you have to spell it like I said it!”

Later on, during his speech welcoming guests to dinner, Jason Wu said, “The point of the Young Friends of ACRIA and the point of the summer soiree is to get my generation involved. We’re so worried about our careers and our lives, and we sometimes don’t think about what it means to do something for somebody else. Well, this is what it means, and I’m grateful to all of you for coming out.”
