For us, spring is about being outside, it’s about movement, it’s about the breeze that you just felt,” said Stella McCartney last night from inside the Elizabeth Street Garden, where she hosted her resort 2015 presentation.

“For us, spring is about being outside, it’s about movement, it’s about the breeze that you just felt,” said Stella McCartney last night from inside the Elizabeth Street Garden, where she hosted her resort 2015 presentation. “It’s a place that everyone walks past, and they’re like, ‘I really want to go in there!’” she explained of her choice of venue.

“It’s so eclectic in here it sort of fits our girl.” And who is the Stella McCartney girl, exactly? It would be hard to pinpoint just one. There’s Lucy Liu (who wore a sleek jumpsuit from the brand) and Maggie Gyllenhaal (in a gingham dress), friends and champions of the label from day one. Also Liv Tyler, who remembered “when she first started at Chloé, and I used to go and sleep on her couch in Paris!”

But McCartney hasn’t just captivated her own generation. Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn  ages 21 and 23, respectively made a beeline for the designer when they arrived, and photos of the models planting a kiss on either side of McCartney’s face immediately appeared on @stellamccartney’s Instagram account with the hashtag #StellasWorld. “Stella is an ultimate babe,” said Delevingne.

Models at Stella McCartney Celebrates Resort 2015“And her clothes are so amazingly wearable but comfortable, and so chic.” One only had to look as far as this duo to see her point; Dunn wore a navy giraffe-print look from McCartney’s spring line, while Delevingne debuted a jumpsuit from the new collection, printed with “aliens, mutants, or Mexican wrestlers . . .” she guessed.

According to the designer, the print was made of “Stella Superheroes I wanted to bring some humor in!” This sentiment not only applied to her clothes, but to the presentation itself. Rather than standing stoically like the garden statues, models wearing McCartney’s resort collection danced along to a live band, blew bubbles, and drank champagne. In fact, even some of the effigies couldn’t stand still one revealed itself to be mortal with a “Hello, miss!” to one guest as they entered the site.

Truly, it was #StellasWorld.
