Miranda Kerr will not part ways with Victoria’s Secret, despite reports to the contrary. Speculation emerged in the US press last night, suggesting that the Australian model had not had her $1 million (£652,000), contract with the lingerie label renewed.
According to US Weekly, Kerr would no longer work alongside the likes of fellow Angels Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima because "she was not a big seller for VS" and "had a difficult reputation" – claims that were swiftly denied by the brand’s president and chief marketing officer, Ed Razek.
"Miranda Kerr is one of the best models in the history of the business – and easily one of the most popular," said Razek. "She is also a consummate professional. Any rumours to the contrary are simply untrue."
The model has worked for the lingerie giant since 2008 and was chosen to wear the Fantasy Million bra in the 2011 fashion show – an honour bestowed upon just one long-serving Angel every year. The working mother has a two-year-old son, Flynn, with her actor husband Orlando Bloom.
"While her international commitments have kept her away from us more than we’d like over the past few years, she will always be an Angel to me," said Razek. "We have no plans to stop working with her. In fact, I’ve already invited her to walk the runway in this year’s fashion show and, happily, she’s agreed."
