Miranda Kerr has confirmed she is no longer a Victoria’s Secret Angel. The 29-year-old Australian model – who has a two-year-old son Flynn with her British actor husband Orlando Bloom – claims that she initiated a deliberate change in the direction of her career and is excited to focus on her passions and relocating her family from Los Angeles to New York.
The brunette beauty, who insists she still has a relationship with the lingerie company and will reportedly still walk in its catwalk show in November, told the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper: "This is a natural evolution." The thing is, I’ve been modelling since I was 13. I’m now entering a new phase in my life. I have felt this coming since my son was born and, after I became a mother, I realised I needed to prioritise my time.
”It’s really important I give 100 per cent to my clients and I have to be careful to make strategic long-term decisions with my personal and business interests. I’ve reached a point in my career where I’m developing my own opportunities that are really reflective of my passions.
”I’m just not in a position to commit to a full contract at this time. It’s three months at a bare minimum.”
She also hit back at reports she was ”standoffish” with the brand’s other models such as Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio, and insisted she will always be ”grateful” to the company for launching her career in America.
She said: ”He knows I like to dance and he knows I like to sing and I have the most fun when I’m singing and dancing — so I think there might be a little karaoke going on. ”It’s something we do as a family – we put the music on, my son and Orlando love it.”
